Well, I was hoping to get a chance to post a photo of Miss Cadence in her rock star outfit for tonight’s blog, but it just didn’t happen. We ended up having a a whole lot of fun with houseful of company today. Cadence played hard with her cousins while Steven and I got to catch up with family and friends and watch the Huskers win. All in all, that’s what I call a perfect day!

So, the plan was to try and hit the Lincoln Children’s Zoo tonight for the annual “Boo at the Zoo” event, but by the time we actually got Cadence into her costume (with a little chocolate sprinkled doughnut bribery) and got out the door, the line to get in was already stretching down the block. So, we decided to head to Famous Daves to hang out and have dinner instead. And I’m thinking that was probably the wisest choice, since Cadence was running on a 30 minute nap, and ended up having to leave the table for two Timeouts before our dinner even arrived. I daresay the Terrible Two’s have arrived a little ahead of schedule in the Romano household.

So, instead of posting a photo of my daughter the rock star and my nephew the T-Rex in the blog tonight, I decided to pull out an oldie but goodie circa 1981. Sally, Brenda, and Kathy will have to let me know if this was the costume they were talking about today when they were laughing about the Halloween when my Dad dressed as a woman, and then, as a joke, climbed in bed with their Grandpa Michl to give him a scare while he was sleeping. I have to say, if I woke suddenly to find this butchly-looking woman lying next to me, it would certainly give me a fright!

Ah, the things we’ll do for fun on Halloween!

Tonight’s 365 Project entry is dedicated to my Uncle Tim & Aunt Leslie for bringing the kids to spend a day in Lincoln with us, and to Sally, Brenda and Kathy for dropping by and spending the afternoon reminiscing. I hope this photo of Duane makes up for some of the 1980’s classics I’ve posted of you here on the blog! If not, let me know, and I’m sure I can dig up a few more of Duane’s greatest hits!
