“If it smells like funk it must be us, cause nobody’s as funky as us. We keep it stinky…” -The Black Eyed Peas

We moved into our new house a little over three weeks ago. Our washer and dryer were delivered today.

You do the math.

If Steven and I were still a childless couple. We might have tried to stretch it without visiting the local laundromat, or at least until we ran out of socks and underwear. That’s where I draw the line.

Unfortunately, toddlers are hard on clothes, their own clothes and other people’s. Add that to the fact that we had houseguests who stayed over to help us move and that, in our haste to get moved before the first snowstorm of the season hit, we neglected to do all of our laundry before we left the rental, and you can imagine that our pile of dirty laundry was reaching truly epic proportions.

To add insult to injury, our washer and dryer were also purchased just after the Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, crazy Christmas shopping rush which meant our names were put at the end of a very long list of deliveries.

Yeah, it’s been a long three weeks.

The last two Saturdays, Steven has gotten up early to head to the local laundromat to keep our new home from beginning to resemble a disgusting college dorm room. He washed enough for us to get by while the rest of our laundry continued to pile up.

While the rest of the world counted down the days until Christmas, Steven and I counted down the days until our washer and dryer were finally delivered.

Oh happy day! It’s laundry day!

I’ve already lost track of how many loads we actually did today, but believe me, the new machines have been thoroughly broken in, and our home is smelling fresh and clean.

Tonight’s 365 Project entry is dedicated to Mom, Dad, Pawpoo Shawn and Granny Wendy for making this Christmas ultra fresh, and to the fabulous folks at BestBuy for giving us a great deal and delivering on time as promised. As God is our witness, we will never be stinky again!
