I probably should have been in bed an hour ago. I hoped to be anyway. Tomorrow, I am shooting my first official full-length wedding and reception for a client in Omah, so I wanted to make sure I was well-rested and ready for anything. So what am I still doing up? I’m trying to figure out something to write about for tonight’s blog, and I’m drawing a blank. So, instead of trying to fight the exhaustion and run myself ragged tomorrow on too little sleep, I’m calling it a night.
I’m looking forward to meeting up with these lovebirds again tomorrow to celebrate their big day!
After being sick, having house guests and then booking another family shoot this past weekend, I was waaaaaaaay behind on editing my sister’s engagement photos. Luckily, I have an amazing hubby who came home, took Miss Cadence to play at the YMCA while he worked out, and then cooked dinner and cleaned the kitchen so I could work. It only took three refills of coffee, but I finally finished, and I am in LOVE with this set! Hopefully Kassie and Jeremy will feel the same.
So, for tonight, I will leave you with one of my favorite photos from the session. I went out on a whim and edited this one a bit different than the rest–bright colors, lots of contrast. There’s just something about it that reminds me of a movie poster, and I adore it.
And now, it is time to get some sleep, because my ornery daughter has knack for waking up extra early every time I go to sleep extra late.
Tonight’s 365 Project entry is dedicated to Kassie & Jeremy. I hope you both love your photos as much as I do! 🙂
The big joke in my family is that my sister Kassie basically stalked her now fiance Jeremy and finally wore him down to date and now marry her. But, whatever the story behind their courtship, spend just 5 minutes with these two and you know for certain they were made for each other.
Now, if I were the betting type, I would bet big money that engagement photos are right up there on most guys’ most-hated lists. In the days leading up to our engagement session, Kassie was harassing Jeremy to come up with fun ideas for their engagement pics.
Jeremy kept saying things like, “How about Kassie holds a football and then I run as fast as I can and tackle her, and you take a picture mid-tackle?”
While a majority of Jeremy’s ideas just didn’t quite pan out, he did come with some really fun things to try. I fell in love with this shot in particular because it just totally fits with the fact that Kassie “chased” Jeremy for so long.
This may not be your traditional engagement photo, but the expression on Kassie’s face = priceless!
Be sure to head on over to I Heart Faces to check out the other fabulous entries for the September People’s Choice. And don’t forget to check back on Wednesday to vote for your favorites!!!
So, usually I do my sneak peeks for clients on my business blog, but I’m in the process of building and updating my website and, well, I just didn’t have a whole lot of time to come up with anything for today’s 365 Project blog post. I spent part of the day babysitting my nephew Odin, and the rest of it working on the photos from the Engagement Session I shot with my sister and her fiance over the weekend. I already posted a couple photos on my StoriTyme Photos Facebook page, but I wanted to make sure I blogged an official sneak peak before Kassie and Jeremy leave to go on Jeremy’s birthday cruise.
I’m nowhere near finished with the photos from our sessions. I shot hundreds of photos during our two-day, four-session marathon. The best thing about Kassie and Jeremy is that they they both have a great sense of humor and that they were pretty much up for anything during the sessions. Oh, and did I mention, they are a beautiful couple? They were a pleasure to work with, even if it meant getting up at 4:30 in the morning to catch the best light. They bought me iced coffee, and as long as there is coffee involved, I’ll get up anytime you want.
So, here are just a few of the amazing photos we captured during our sessions together. I can’t even say these are my favorites, because there are just far too many fabulous shots to choose from. These were just a few that caught my eye and made me smile, so I thought I’d share them with you.
Tonight’s 365 Project entry is dedicated to Kassie and Jeremy. Thank you both for the wonderful weekend!
When you’re a Work-at-Home Mom, the whole Bring Your Child to Work Day concept takes on a whole new meaning. In my reality, every day is Bring Your Child to Work Day. My phone interviews are scheduled around my daughter’s naps. She draws or colors in a chair next to mine as I process photos. Sometimes she even sits in my lap as I type up emails and finish stories for deadlines.
Since she’s been born, Cadence has also been on several photo shoots with me. I’m always so proud of how well-behaved my little Energizer Bunny is when she accompanies me. As long as she’s got something to drink and some room to roam, she is perfectly content.
Tonight, as I finished up my sister Kassie and her fiance Jeremy’s 4-part engagement session photo shoot in the desert just outside of Florence, Arizona, little Miss Cadence was happy take a short walk with her Nonna, Poppa, Aunt Jen, Uncle Beau and sweet little 3-legged Roo dog. Of course, I couldn’t help but snap a few shots when my girl and her entourage wandered in near us.
Here a few of the photos I snapped of my busy little girl and her bodyguards.
Tonight’s 365 Project entry is dedicated to my good-natured little girl and all the fun she has with her Momma at work.
It started at 4:30, when I woke to shower and dress and double check my camera bag. By 6:00, my sister Kassie, her fiance Jeremy and I were heading out the door for the first “session” of a 4-part engagement photo shoot. We hit McDonald’s for some quick breakfast and enormous iced coffees to get us going, and then drove up to Freestone Park in Gilbert.
I’ll admit, I’ve been on pins and needles for weeks to shoot my very first engagement session, and I feel so blessed that my sister and future brother-in-law get to be my guinea pigs. Not only are they both super-photogenic, but they are also super fun. We got so many great photos today at both our morning session and the quick evening session we snuck in right before the big dust and rainstorm hit.
Of course, I’m not officially sneak peeking any of the photos yet since I don’t even have a way to properly upload or crop them on my little laptop, but I couldn’t help but share a few of our “outtakes” from the day.
