So, this blog has been a bit hit and miss lately with everything going on, but I’m hoping to get back in the swing of things very soon.
First, though, it’s time for a much needed vacation. Time to see some friends and family and spend some quality time with the kiddo and the hubby. If I can find time to post, I will. Otherwise, I’ll see you on the flip side.
And, just for fun, here’s an old picture of me doing the family vacation 80’s style.
Oh yeah baby. It doesn’t get much cooler than that! 🙂
Ever since I was a child, the National Lampoon’s Vacation theme song has played loudly in my head as my family got ready to go on a road trip. Maybe it was because my Dad fancied himself to be the Nebraskan Clark Griswold and insisted on driving our old diarrhea brown station wagon on family vacations. Or maybe it’s just because even the most uneventful family vacation always turned into some crazy adventure–like the time the luggage flew off the roof of the car or the time we returned to our hotel room after a long day of whitewater rafting to discover that every available channel was showing the same helicopter footage of O.J. Simpson’s white Bronco leading police on a low speed chase.
Now that I have my own family to take on vacation, I can’t imagine that our family vacations are going to be any less chaotic, especially since chaos seems to find Steven and I wherever we go. But, in the meantime, our trip today started out well well with Cadence and Electra relaxing in the back of the van while we drove. We’ll see where the rest of our vacation takes us.
I hope you’ll excuse the quality of today’s photo. It’s hard to get a good one on your camera phone in a moving car, but Electra’s expression was just too good to pass up.
Today’s 365 Project entry is dedicated to everyone else heading out this weekend. I hope you all enjoy the holiday ro-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-oad!
