As you probably noticed, I took a few days off from the blog. Nothing crazy. No earth shattering catastrophes or alien abduction or wackiness (well, nothing outside the usual wackiness around here). Just a few days spent with some very dear friends who came for a visit from Arizona.
We had a blast.
The worst part, though, is trying to readjust now that they’ve gone home.
The house is too quiet, and we’re trying to work our way back into something of a schedule. Cadence and Electra are both wondering where their friends have gone, and Steven and I are missing the good company and conversation that we always enjoy when Ervin and Erin are around.
It’s been just over 24 hours since I dropped the Flores’ off at the airport, and we’re missing them already.
I’ll share more of the fun tomorrow, but for now, here’s a little glimpse of the five fun days we spent with our friends…
And yeah, you know my kid is the joker who shoved an Funyun in her mouth for the photo. 🙂
So, I’ve been sitting here for a whole lot longer than I really care to admit, trying to come up with something to blog about tonight. Sorry folks, I got nothing.
Our good friends, the Flores’, are coming to visit and I’m so excited I can hardly stand it! Every time I think I might have an idea or something to write about, I get distracted thinking about things we can do while they’re in town, thinking about how much the girls have probably grown since I’ve seen then last, thinking about how much fun Erin and I used to have sharing a cubicle, randomly quoting movie lines back and forth to each other throughout the day, and how much fun we had hanging out at the softball fields watching our husbands play softball together.
I can’t think straight. I just want their plane to get here. I’m thinking Cadence and I are going to get to the airport early so we can hold a little sign that says “Flores”, just like the New York City livery drivers. If only we had matching chauffeur hats! Maybe I can dig something up.
In the meantime, I really need to get to bed. It’s been a long day of cleaning and organizing and chasing my ornery 2-year-old around the house. Tomorrow, the Flores Fun Train arrives! Woohoo!!! 🙂
