One Charity Gallery Down, and One To Go

May was officially one of the busiest months on record for me in 2012, and as it draws to an end, I’m finally feeling like I’ve got a little bit of breathing room. Tonight, I finally finished up the photo gallery for the 9th annual Wear Yellow Ride, sponsored by Wear Yellow Nebraska, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for cancer. I shot a ton of photos and ended up processing nearly 400 total.

I’m surprised my eyeballs haven’t fallen out of my head. That’s a whole lot of photos folks. But man, there were so many great shots! The gallery just went live for the participants to see, and now I’m working on a deadline to finish processing the photos and uploading the gallery for the Sheridan Scramble golf outing fundraiser I shot to benefit the youth group at Sheridan Lutheran Church this weekend. The goal is to finish all of those photos before Sunday, since I have an engagement shoot scheduled Sunday evening.

One step at a time.

So, for tonight, here are a few photos from the 9th Annual Wear Yellow Ride. Over 350 riders turned out for the event, and I was honored to spend the day among them as they rode for such a wonderful cause.

Catching Up

Whew! What a weekend! I apologize for my absence, but it was a busy few days. After spending my Saturday photographing the 9th Annual Wear Yellow Ride to raise money for cancer awareness and research, Steven and I headed out to spend our Sunday afternoon at the Himark Golf Course here in Lincoln to help some local Lutheran youth raise money for their mission trip to Joplin, Missouri and New Orleans, Louisiana.

We couldn’t have asked for a nicer Sunday. It was warm, sunny, and just enough of a cool breeze to keep us from sweating to death while we waited for the teams of golfers to play through our hole. We photographed each group and every single golfer participating in the scramble, and got some really great shots of everyone. Best of all, we had a blast. And, with Cadence at home spending the afternoon with Grandma, Grandpa and her cousin Odin, it was the closest thing Steven and I have had to an actual date in months! 🙂

Here’s just one of my favorite shots from the day. These guys were cracking us up…

So, now that the charity event madness is over, it’s time to get back in the groove and back on schedule. I’ve got hundreds of photos to process, an engagement session booked, Momma Dawn and Kassie coming to town for my cousin Vawn’s wedding, and a blog begging for some regular posting again.

And for now, it’s time to smear some more aloe vera on my sunburned neck and get some sleep.
